It has not taken Leo Ruberto long to push the Columbus-based Feazel home contracting company into Cincinnati.

Feazel Roofing Co. founders Mike and Todd Feazel sold their 25-year-old business to Ruberto, an industry sales veteran, in early January.

In an April interview, Ruberto said he wanted to focus on pushing the company that did $5.8 million in 2012 to $10 million this year and perhaps a bit beyond before expanding into Cleveland, Akron-Canton, Dayton and Cincinnati.

“I’d say that’s a 36-month expansion plan,” he said two months ago regarding the geographic growth. “We need to make sure we have all of our processes set in place before we think about other markets.”

The lure of Cincinnati, apparently, proved too tempting for Ruberto to wait until 2014.

“Cincinnati was always in the cards as the No. 1 place to expand,” he said in a statement relayed to me through an outside public relations representative. “Cincinnati is a very hot home-improvement market, one of the best in the country.”

Feazel still expects to hit Dayton and northeast Ohio markets within the next three years, he said.

A company news release said Feazel could do $3 million from Cincinnati alone this year. That pushes the 2013 sales goal to $13 million.

The Cincinnati office, by the way, will operate out of a 4,000-square-foot office at 11550 Enterprise Park Drive in the Sharonville area.

The company offers the installation of roofing, windows, siding, insulation and other building products in the residential and commercial markets.
